Haven't grown at all yet. After researching for the last couple weeks, I am leaning towards at 2x4 tent to grow 2 or possibly 3 plants at a time. Probably mostly autoflower, but possibly some non-auto fems down the road.
It's just for personal use and legal where I am, but I don't get enough sunlight (shadows from buildings and trees) to grow outside.
I was hoping to spend less than $300 for everything I would need for my first run, but it seems clear that is not going to happen. I got more seeds than I need for the first run for about $40 shipped, but I haven't bought anything else yet.
Ultimately, I am thinking about either the mars hydro 24x48x70 or VIVOSUN 24x48x60. Its is about $100 more for the Mars Hydro one currently. Does anyone know if it's worth it for the extra height, or for the quality of the tent?
For the light I am leaning towards Spider Farmer SF-2000 LED or Mars Hydro SP 250/TSL 2000W LED. Its about $40-$50 more for the spider farmer.
Both lights are a lot more than I was hoping to spend on a light. Anyone here with experience with these lights that could explain if and why it's better to get one over the other? Also, with lights that are around $150, are they just not going to grow as much of a yield?
The only reason I want to grow up to 3 plants at a time is so I can have a daytime, night time, and high CBD to choose from as needed once harvested. So I am not too focused on getting massive yields. If it would save a lot of money to buy cheaper lights and the final result are just as potent, but there is 20-30% less total grams of usable herb at the end, it might be worth saving the money. But not if it's 50% or more, or especially if the potency of cannabinoids or amount of turpenes are cut down by the cheaper lights.
I've also read about having a humidifier, inline fan, and even possibly adding Co2 into the tent.
I'd love to know if any of those are not really needed. I think much of the advice I've been getting has been from people who are going for maximum yields.
Thanks!
