What are auto flowering plants and how do i tell if mine are?

I assume (obviously by the title) that the plants auto flower at some point without the need for the lights changing?

How can you tell if a plant is auto-flowering?

And if it does, do i assume that it will being showing its sex?

Autos start flowering in about 3 weeks regardless of the light regime. The strain I have shows in 17 days for male and 20 days for female. Every plant is almost exactly on that schedule.

I had an auto flower happen out of a bunch of bagseed I grew, it didnt take very long to spot the differences. The auto sexed itself out waaay before the regular plants, at about 3 weeks, also, it stopped growing at about 15", the other plants got way bigger. Hope that helps.

I have three Autoflowers going at the moment and i was able to sex them all within 24 days from seed.

if they have been vegging for 6 six weeks now and jus started showing signs of sex, chances are they are not autoflower, they are jus showing preflowers, means they are getting ready to start flowering.. i would put them under 12/12
