What are the benefits of topping ?

My plant is about 3 weeks old and i want to cut the main top because i heard it makes a small bushy plant , which is what i want . My question is , is it Safe to top it ? Let me remind You that i dont add nutrients to my plant im only using regular dirt .

toping will help your plant to bush out, you will lose the common center bud you see on most plants,
I always top in my opion you can yield more this way. but I wouldnt top right before flipping to 12/12
do it a week or so before to allow your plantt to grow past the toping spot, tis will alow for more budding
sites.

Quite safe. I usually top seedlings when they get 4 sets of true leaves, I remove the 4th set.

My host plants get topped either by taking cuts/clones or trimming when they are not needed, every few weeks.

Ubs Topping Technique! look it up! you can turn one main cola into 2..or 4! mine even got 6 top colas from the skill..so..do the math! you want more yeild? this is the deal.

looks toped right but your soil is real dry looking and you have a def. going with the yellowing on the leaves.
whats the PH at?

Yea should i add more water ? i dont know the PH since im using regular dirt from outside . Please Help .

oi..should he have waited till he had the side shoots coming out of the stalk? they look topped fine tho..maybe a bit too early? and yes, the soil looks poor at best..outside dirt? o_O from your parking lot? or some lower, better soil? i dont personally have experience with growing with un-substanciated dirt..but it wouldnt be my first choice in medium. def transplant into something more targeted for your use when the time comes.keep the dirt moist at all times.
