Ive been having a hard time cloning, mainly because my humidity dome dries out during the day when im at work. im looking to buy an inexpensive cloning machine to easy my efforts. i dont need a 25 site machine. dont get me wrong, i want one but the legal limit for a medical patient is only 7 here in hawaii (which i have a hard time staying under already!). any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. mahalo and aloha:leaf::leaf:

Get one with some depth.. I built one and i bought one.. I like the botanicaire 25 site.. Theres many of them on ebay.. Remember depth tho, dont get a shallow one, you will end up with tangled roots.. theres plenty daisy cloners out there or 5 gallon 15 site cloners.. I like to keep mine in the cloner during veg cycle thats why i use 2...

Something like this would work nicely, not crowded and deep enough.. You could veg in this if you're ok with going into bloom when they are about 10-12" tall (no taller than that), and if you keep them in til the roots hit the water, be sure to put an airstone in the bottom of the bucket, or you will drown em.

Don't buy any of them. Unless you can buy one for 20 dollars, it's cheaper to just build one. Don't worry about the fancy plumbing, you don't need it. Just cut an 8 or 10" section of 1/2" hose, fold over one end twice tightly and zip tie it closed. Attach that to the top of the pump and plug in a couple 360 degree spray heads. Other than cutting the holes for the cups, you're about done. Happy growing.

do u grow indoors? in hawaii i dont see why u would want to i fucking love that place and cant wait to find my way back again, but those 5 gallon bucket diy deals seem like the way to go if it will for for your set up r u hydro or soil? and for anyone with the bucket can u go into soil from that? but y is the dome losing humid? i got a dome from the grow store for cheap that came with a heating pad and starter pellets and it holds humid well. i'm on my first try at cloning right now i noticed u have to spray the dome leave it closed with standing water in the bottom

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm gonna try and build that cloned out of the 5 gal bucket. Looks like a simple enough setup. No need for a dome over the top? How do the young clones survive without taking in water from the leaves that young? All the moisture in the dome already gets sucked out quick if I'm away too long. Mahalo for all the help!

I never use the dome on my cloner, i use one for my seedlings tho.. But some people use domes for the cloners, i just dont think its necessary (jmo)

Momma room open.jpgSeems like a lot of extra money, and hastle to clean up. I use the standard black plastic flats, and a simple dome. Once i take the clones, dip in clonex and put in 1.5" rockwool, i dip them in Vitagrow anti-wilt. Seems like I dont have to water the cubes again for about a week. I use the off lighting from my 400w hps, or floros. I do mist them about 1 a day, or every other day. I also have the cubes suspended a tad over the trays bottom, so i can keep a tiny bit of water in the bottom to help keep humidity up. Total cost of the setup, less than $20. When the tray gets hard to clean, it costs me nothingness to replace. Only about a 90-95% success rate, so perhaps there is room for improvement. Best of luck to ya!

ive been using the standard black tray with dome also, but without being able to mist it all day they get the life sucked out of them. i like the tip of having some standing water in the tray, i may try that for now. doesnt that invite bacteria problems? has anyone tried the botanicare 8 site daisy cloner. not too expensive, but looks like what i need. i would love a 25 site cloner, but im trying to stay closer to my 7 limit. by the way, how do i plus rep all you helpful brothers?

Only time i noticed excessive drying was when I had too much light or temps too high. Im guessing the vitagrow is helping. The temps and humidty i keep is about 80/80, but I do like misting them daily. Never had a mold or bacteria problem since I clean the thing evey time I transpant. Clones taking me 11-16days, anything over 20 gets tossed becuzz of the chance of mold. If they are drying too fast, try less light. Ive actually found that VERY little light is more than enough.

You BUY a MACHINE??? Didn´t know such a thing existed.

I haven´t done any cloning for a while.

When I do I put my clone in a clear plastic cup so I can see the roots. Sit that in a saucer of water daily and secure a plastic bag over the top with a rubber band. Put three of them under a CFL 18/6. Costs virtually nothing.

i think youre totally right about the heat or the light. here in hawaii its hard to keep the temps under 80 during the day without running an a/c. I use two l.e.d. lights in the veg room and they may be too close for the clones. i heard you can hang the l.e.d's right above the plants with no problem. the 90w ufo i use gives off as much useable light as a 400w hps (supposedly) so that may be the problem. either that or the heat, and i can only control one of those right now. much mahalos for your help

run it 24/7. no air stone. I used the exact same pump he suggested. I found a couple fountain pumps in stores by me, but they didnt have the same fitting to put the pvc pipe onto it. So I just ordered the same model he used from the net. I don't remember where I got it, but it was reasonable.

I keep my clones far away from the light too. They dont get close to the light until They get planted.
