will take any criticism on how to better it. plants are on their 5th week of veg. this is only my 2nd time LSTing had to shove it into the dirt because i hate LSTing in fabric pots have the hardest time with nothing to tie them down to. i've made holes before but since i reuse the pots i rather not make holes.

pots are 7gal these are there forever homes i only LST'd the biggest of the 3 to get it to a more even canopy. honestly imo it looks better then i imagined my first time i LST'd was early and it looked like shit but this one i let it grow out more and looks nicer got the shape i wanted. biggest issue is the ties are too thin so when i tried to shove them in the dirt they don't want to stay or have trouble doing so so when they grow towards the light i imagine the ties will all come out and if that is the case i will be using a much thicker wire but it may harm the plants in the long run

Nice bro! That one fan leaf thats folded down on the left plant in the last pic, slip that puppy out as it's shading the node and isn't getting light itself.

ahh thanks i did not catch that lol. i really dont have high hopes for this method though because the wires are super flimsy will check on em tomorrow morning though. the padding is great just the wire is super thin keeps bending when i try to stick it in the soil plus my soil is fluffy so it doesn't really grab onto the wires got to stick um down really deep. pretty sure i fucked up some roots but w.e.

You may grab some of those U shaped pins that are used to secure chainlink fencing down to the ground. They are tough. May cut them a little shorter though.

yea tried to tuck it in just now one of the leaves snapped off im just gonna say fuck it leave it how it is already before i snap the entire plant. the stem didn't snap though you can see that bend/twist on the kola in the middle. shit is super flimsy think it is from the silicone should harden up eventually though

At this stage it won't hurt to defoliate some of the fan leaves that are in the way. Free up those nodes to get light and pop up.

i actually had some from my dog cage but i threw um away. we got a shit load of metal wires in the garage just as thick so if anything i will switch to those one. primarily doing this to slow down vertical growth so the baby can catch up but it looks to be growing more like an indica i mean they all look like indica's but they are not growing as short and stacked as the baby one.

the big ass ones would be okay to defoliate? i dont have much experience with defoliating i usually keep everything on but the big fan leaves are the ones giving me the biggest issues just due to their size.

You can also drill or cut a hole into the rims of the fabric pot. It'll be a bit more secure than trying to hold it down from the soil. Looking good so far though.

yea i tried that but cutting slits it went bad lol literally cut the whole top part off on one of the pots plus i eventually want to reuse the pots and im extremely anal about looks i got like OCD when it comes to it maybe from my profession idk thats why when i cut the slits i make sure it's not even noticeable i use this little needle looking tool thats sharp as hell kind of looks like a shank. think it's a dentist tool it punches super tiny holes. i will probably stop LSTing on this grow though im literally running out of space in my closet with the 1 light to continue to LST them as i do like to give some space inbetween the plants but if you look in my pics they are bunched closed together. likely will fix that tomorrow on my day off i got this little plastic shelving in the corner taking up a lot of space and on the left is weave baskets that i put my ghetto ass air purifyer/fan on to bounce off the wall so it doesn't directly hit the plants but still get some movement.

outside of that is my bike and clothes and other shit. waiting to see if i can grow more after august before i invest in a 2nd light.

Looks nice - hey what's that strain on the right in the first picture? I've got one that looks really really similar...

which pic mine or his? all 3 are Strawyberry Cough from seed. they all growing at different rates though. you can check out the progress in my signature where i keep all the pics and info and update on a daily basis lol. sadly looks like i got all indica pheno's though when this is supposed to be a sativa dominant hybrid. i got my 2nd grow still running outside in flowering i think they got about 2-4 more weeks to go but i already lost track on that grow nor keep a journal for them plus im just fucking around. this one will be purely indoors so far i've only taken them outside once for transplanting reasons. can't really grow outside due to lack of sunlight i get nor can supplement with a light fixture. i can grow outdoors all year round but the plants would be small and thus produce very little yield or lower quality in the long run.

Hey buddy, go to your local hardware store, Lowes/Home Depot and get a grommet kit. Has everything you need except the hammer. I suggest 1/2", brass so they are big enough and will not rust. Very easy to install and works very well. As far as tying off/ supporting the main stalk for beginning lst, something like a kabob skewer pushed down into dirt to bottom of pot before roots take off is very secure and has worked for me and some other people I know. Just a thought. Peace and happy growing!

I tried the grommet route in mine, my wife had one for putting grommets on greeting cards. The grommets didn't work so well, but the tool worked just fine as a hole punch. I used pipe cleaners through the holes I punched around the rim of the fabric pot and it worked great!

My suggestion is a hole punch and pipe cleaners.

I like it. I have done the same.
