10-4 I was a bit confussed thanks!!!LST is low stress training, tying down branches so they grow horizontally which results in a lot more main colas/tops to emerge. I am doing it, it's awesome... I think it's most closely comparable to SCROG (screen of green) without the screen.
Lollipopping is cutting all the sucker branches that won't amount to anything from the bottom of the plant creating a sort of "Lollipop" looking plant, hence the name. This allows the plant to put all its focus on the main colas and not waste time on the little popcorn buds.
Right on! I poorly worded that one... I meant anything other than the popcorn buds. Thanks for the clarification, I don't want anyone getting confused or the wrong info thanks to me. haha"Lollipopping" allows the plant to focus growing at the canopy, not necessarily the main colas. Main colas really only come off the top of the main stem. Primary and secondary colas would be a more accurate term. But the clarification was for the fact that the action takes place at the canopy. With some adequate side lighting, "lollipopping" would be a waste of time. It has been said adding side lighting (or any even lighting) is the best way to increase yields, rather than waste the energy and time the plant has spent growing. I personally top all of my plants and use LST a lot. Pipe Cleaners are my shit.
