What is optimal grow tent dimensions for 1000w HPS/MH light?

Title sums up question. I have 6' 6" ceiling and want two rooms/tents, one for veg and the other for flowering. What size tent should I buy to get good tight buds? This is my first indoor grow so any help is welcome. Should I have a 1000watts for both tents?

not with the height limitations. two 600s is how I'd work that. Two 5 by 5 tents although the 600w will probably (depending on reflector) have a 4 by 4 footprint.
A 1kw lamp will do a 5by5 footprint but you have to have the headroom to move it back.
600s are really the way to go.
Of course throw something in like a screen and you can keep the canopy low and even.

good info man, so u don't think a 1000 watts is a good idea for my height limitations. Will getting a 5x5 tent/room decrease my yeild/quality if so I'll go smaller to fit the light. Thanks for the advice man.

if you can keep the canopy low and maybe get a hood with a low profile OR if you screen it(which would keep it low.
But there is such a thing as light that is too intense which slows or stops photosynthesis .

4 by 4 tent with a 600 gets cramped. I'm running one now.
my space only allows two 4by4 tents or I would run 5by5 tents with the same 600 watt lamps in each tent.

5x5 should match a 1000W but IME its nice to have room to work with

I'm in a shed, in the SE part of the country. Any ideas on cooling during the summer? How hot is to hot in a tent(max temp.)?

optimal temps for most strains is 74-78F most do ok with temps up around 80-85F but try to keep it under 90F no matter what, keep a good ventilation/air flow, maybe add a nice cool hood so it won't be the bulb that heat up your shed

cool tube cool hood, what ever, a good ventilation system and if you choose a 1000W I would go for the hood rather then then tube
