Questions in the title.
F1= The first "filial" generation of animals or plants, produced by crossing 2 parental lines.
F2= The second Gen. of plants, produced by selfing or intercrossing of F1 individuals
Phenotype= Those properties of an organism, produced by the genotype in conjunction with the environment, that are observable. Organisms with the same overall genotype may have different phenotypes because of the effects of the environment and of gene interaction. Conversly, organisms may have the same phenotype but different genotypes, as a result of incomplete (partial) dominace, penetrance(proportion) or expressivity.
Genotype= The genetic constitution of an organism, as opposed to its physical appearance.
From the Oxford Dictionary Of Plant Science....Almost word 4 word

genotype is the plant's DNA, phenotype is the physical appearance because of effects of the environmentThanks for replying but would you be able to explain briefly as if you were explaining to a 6 year old or maybe in layman's terms please.
this is may help, ......... https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/197022-my-5-yr-old-found.htmlThanks for replying but would you be able to explain briefly as if you were explaining to a 6 year old or maybe in layman's terms please.
F1= Crosses of two PURE different strains (in human terms: caucasian with black)Thanks for replying but would you be able to explain briefly as if you were explaining to a 6 year old or maybe in layman's terms please.
Ok I thats Genotype done.genotype is the plant's DNA, phenotype is the physical appearance because of effects of the environment
Ah I get it now thanks fdd2blk. Man you are everywhere on RIU are you admin?when you take 2 stable strains and cross them the first cross will be an "F1 generation". if you take these seeds and grow them out and pollinate a male with a female you will have an F2 generation. and so on.
a "phenotype" is what makes 2 plants from the same seed stock different.
He he he! I was just reading that 5 mins agothis is may help, ......... https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/197022-my-5-yr-old-found.html
F1= Crosses of two PURE different strains (in human terms: caucasian with black)
F2= Crossing two F1s. (in human terms: caucasian-black mix with asian-hispanic mix)
Phenotype= Basically, it's the physical changes you can see when they are adapting to the environment they are given. Sativa plants usually have long leaves, grow pretty tall, produce strong stems (for fibre for industry use), and seed production (they are found in mostly warm regions). Indicas have small leaves, are a bit stocky, and are primarly quicker to grow + often grown for drug use (they are used to cooler regions). This all depends on the environment, genotype, and just random variation. It is the physical traits they have due to their environment.
Genotype= This is close to phenotype. In this case, cannabis plants continuously have slight gene changes to make them adapt to their environment/diseases and such. They change due to their surroundings but gene-wise. (Say that one generation they can't survive an attack from a bacteria/virus, next generation they change their genes so they are now imune to those bacteria/viruses).
well..this is how i remember it.. i'm not sure if im correct so if anyone wants to correct me correct me

Thats it exactly....Sorry my friend...Was just quoting the book.......
Genotype=Genetics
Phenotype=Physical appearance
F1=1st Generation
F2=2nd generation
And yes FDD2BLK is all over this site...
Keep doing your thing F2B I'm watching and learning....Thanks
