What is the dumbest thing you have done to your garden?

We all make mistakes, some are chalked up to inexperence some are due to the fact that we are a bunch of potheads. I have seen some wierd things on theese boards from Boiling your roots before harvest to some guy trying to put LSD in his water to make his weed trippy. Here are some my my dumbest moves:

When I was starting out I took my girlfriends birth control and added it to my hydro system, it didn't really have much effect on the plants but it did result in a daughter.

I was growing in a 5x5 room and the smell was driving me nuts, so I put an ionizer in the room, the plants no longer smelled but they were dead by morning. PLEASE DONT USE AN IONIZER

My most recent SNAFU was I had 6 Green Crack plants, they were looking a little yellow before I was to switch them to 12/12, I had not been checking PH because I was lazy and didn't have a pen. so I used a PH paper and my eyes suck so I saw that it was high. I poured about 1/4 cup into a 5 gal pail of nuted water and went with it. Well needless to say the leaves then really turned yellow. I was actually able to save them with a good flush, but those poor plants went through hell, about a week later I got a new PH pen and forgot to calabrate it and basically did the same thing again.

The purpose of this thread is to amuse and learn, I hope that some other growers share so I can really find out if LSD water makes for trippy weed.

Okay I am in too LOL, Let see the latest was I ignored the shit out of the clone tray and they are half dead this morning, guess it is time for a new cloner.
I set up the new tent one day and didnt check the heat levels of everything and fell asleep I get home the next day from work and they were all laying on the floor dead from heat exhaustion. Always test the space before putting plants in lol.
One run I didnt feed them anything for weeks and weeks just water thinking the soiless mix would sustain them ROFLOL boy was I wrong on that one, went to weekly feeding and all good in the hood.
I tried hydro once and had a fitting in the flood table that was not checked properly leak all night, woke up to a flooded basement and the plants drooping halfway off the table opps, sealant and a wrench solved that and switching to soiless mix lol.
The dog got downstairs once and she knocked over every plant in inventory, I went down the next day and they were all already growing up to the light, so I had a run of Crocked plants LOL that was a fun one took another week for them to point to the light the right way.

went into my grow room years ago when i was drunk , gave them a feed and sat down for a minute..... next thing i know its 6 hours later , i had fallen asleep and woke up dehydrated as all hell and with a good dose of sun burn on one side of my face ... it was winter and had been raining for three weeks .... was a little hard to explain,,,

i washed out my bubble bucket with dish washing liquid, but didn't rinse it well enough, checking on it later i found suds bubbling around like a washing machine. i fixed it right away though it didn't seem to hurt the plants none.

Wow Moondance is having a bad day! My dog also likes to "help" in the garden, She only prunes! She also helped in the mushroom garden, ate 1.3 oz and lived, I am glad my vet is cool.

I did the sativa thing once but it was before I was serious so it wasn't too much of a waste, it probably was a male anyway.

I once was helping a buddy with a grow and briefly told him how to sex plants, the next time I saw him all his female plants were pulled and he was growing 3 males, lol

Could you direct me to where there are studies on it. Is that the Robert Clark study? I am pretty sure tht was debunked by Dr. Pashir of Parmar University in India, I think the paper was something about tranposition, however I am still always open to more research.

Any botany book, simply look at how plants survive a flood, IOW what happens when O2 is not present in the root zone. The boiled water thing just makes it happen instantly where flooding em causes mold problems

That poor plant was neglected compared to my actual gardens ....it was at the house image.jpg ....with a couple others but I just didn't put the time/attention into em that I should have .....patients like me to grow lots of kush so this was just kind of a what the hell lil garden with a few strains I don't usually mess with to be honest
