What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Yes I did and nothing of that sort
R U sure? cos it does look like SM damage to me...................sorry if I coming across as a bit patronizing, but you may have looked for spider mite and just not 'seen' them............They are tiny..............either way, get a good magnifying glass, cos whatever it is, looks like pest attack, as opposed to nute def.

Doubt very much it's a zinc def, what are you growing in? MJ doesn't need that much zinc and deficiencies are very rare. Lockout of nutes' on the other hand is different, this is usually caused by poor ph or an excessive amount of another nutrient. I'd still look for bugs before looking into the soil though because it looks like spider mite damage to me, too. Get a magnifying glass or even better a usb microscope, some of these bugs can't be seen with the naked eye.

Some of your leaves 'are' showing signs of nutrient deficiency(2nd pic), but anything feeding off your plant is taking nutrients from it, hence the deficiencies. In my experience, that looks like something is feeding off of your plant and if you don't look into it now, you're gonna be battling it for a long time.

ps, I've been dealing with thrip for the last year, it's a bitch, the spider mite I've had in the past have always been easy to get rid of......these fookin thrip on the other hand......

I've gone organic over the past couple of years, so my last round of SM were dealt with using predator mites. Before that I used a product from the hydro store called smc (spider mite control), both methods work a treat when the SM are spotted early.

'IF' your symptoms are SM, I'd say you've already got a shit load of them. In this case I'd spray fuck out of em every couple of days for around 1-2weeks, leave em a few days no spraying and then add predators to clean up any survivors

Since you aren't flowering yet by he looks of it I would get some good poison like avid and give them a good spray twice a week for 2 weeks but that's just me. Alternatively chop up 20 habaneros, simmer them in a half gallon of water for 10 minutes and cool/strain into a spray bottle and blast everything, just about any you come into contact with will die, certainly slows them down.

Spider mites or thrips, you should figure out which before treating them. Do see any webs on your plants?
