You are right, I have never had one that came anywhere close to even 5% male, more like .05%. I can understand if you have a pile of male nana's hanging around your plant, but a lot of these people are only showing a banana here and there and people are telling them things like, oh no, your whole grow is going to be hermi and all the seeds you get will be hermie and if you smoke it, you will go hermi too...ok, the last part may be a little extreme, but it really would not surprise me to hear that too.
I don't know how many times I heard someone say, I found two seeds in the bud I was smoking of some really awesome shit. Do I dare plant them?
People are telling them no, and some of these people have high posting numbers! Some of these people with high numbers, I am starting to think are arm chare growers and going by what others are saying or either that or from a seed company! When some one comes in and tries to tell them the truth about the subject, they get shot down not because he has bad info, but because he only has a few postings on the site whether it is RIU or another one and they heard hermies were bad so many times that they all really believe that having a couple of male parts in their females make them hermies and throw away their seeds or worse yet, pull out a perfectly beautiful lady cause she has a scare on her ankle or a pimple on her cheek. It doesn't matter people, she is still a gorgeous lady!
The people in the seed banks are laughing their a$$ off at these misinformed people cause they are selling their feminized seeds to this same guy cause people have been convinced that the seeds from the sensi buds found in their bags will throw hermies so instead of planting those, they order feminized seeds from seedbanks for $10 - $15 a bean and basically, it is the same thing that came from their bud. Those seeds will throw almost all female plants and no, they are not going to hermi if their only problem was a couple of seeds in the bag.
Now, I would start to wonder if there are a bunch of seeds per bud, but not if there is one or two per bud and 10 or so per oz. I would 100 times rather use the seed that came from a bud without seeds then one from a bud with a pile of seeds. You really do not know who's their daddy but on the sparsely seeded buds you can safely assume that they are from a male pod on a female flower which means it pollinated itself and contains only the female genes from the female plant they smoked which makes it a real good chance your product will be as good or can be as good as the bud from which it came, considering your growing skills.
I have never had a plant that I would actually call a hermi. They have always been almost all female but I do see a male ball on occasion and I like to pluck them and save them up to make seeds in a branch or two when I get the chance cause usually they come at the end of the grow for me and too late to make productive seeds from the plants from which they came.
Thank you for your reply. I agree with you on the true hermi plants.
