Freddie, how does one go about starting a record label. Thats pretty cool dude. Business well?
haha ill tell u how i did it,
i always loved music since i was a little kid, i used to sing when i was younger age 5-8 then from 8-13 i started writing my own songs, i never did shows or performed, because im extremely shy, i just did it for fun at a young age, when i was 13 in 7th grade me and my 2 best friends got together at a local mcdonalds and i told them that we shud start a record label lol... so it was just 3 kids, we all got our money together and by the end of 8th grade we had enough money to purchase a Roland Production Studio. it was around $3,000, so we just recorded with a little condenser mic for about 2 years until we were a legit group, when i say legit i mean people actually liked our music, we had and have some really sold stuff... we started getting known around the area and before u knew it i had pretty muched mastered the ART of music production, we later invested in buying a top of the line MAc and it was history haha... i had people over at my house all day after school from my sophmore year to my senior year of high school, i was making 75$/hr, for studio time... i was far more focused on making music then school, i had good grades and had enough credits to graduate high school, 3 weeks before graduation i was banned from my district for some reasons i cant talk about, it was complete injustice tho... but i took that negative and turned it into motivation, i did a few things to save up money and before u knew it i had enough money to lease a space near a chinese food place and a 711... at age 21 i had opeded my 2nd studio location..
and yeah bro business is good, people are always wanting to record, just how people always need haircuts, food, gas, it seems this business never has a down season...
sorry for the huge paragraph but im a little stoned and i get awfully chatty haha
