What Kind of Insect is This?

I set my plants outside during the day for sun. I brought them in last night and found a visitor on one plant. It looks like a preying mantis but smaller. I know he can jump and move fast but did not scare at all. Is it beneficial or is it something I'm not aware of. A couple of pictures included in case you can figure out the sex on this plant. Maybe its too early. Thanks in advance!

From the distorted image it looks like a stick bug! Or praying mantis... A clearer pic would be better if possible. And pic one kinda looks Male, but too early to confirm!

its a mantis! i have 5 of them in my grow room, they are excellent hunters. leave him be and pray he stays, its a male. females of the same age would be twice maybe 3 times his size. name him and hope he graces your garden.

He survived the grow tent but I put the plants outside again and he disappeared. There are many potted plants on my lanai so maybe he found more food elsewhere.

consider yourself lucky! i'd love to have a praying mantid patrolling my grow area. they're bad asses to insects. like dogs and cats they're also cool pets, but like dogs and cats remember they can bite! post more pics as it grows. lucky you. GL

Preying Mantis, but it sounds like he moved on when you put them back outside.
Plants are too early to sex, but they are getting close (note the alternating nodes).
