What kind of scopes are you guy using?

so what kind of microscopes are people using that they can take pictures of the tru homes? Or are they just really expensive cameras? I bought a cheap mini microscope from Amazon but it's shit.

most people use really expensive dslr cameras but if you have an iphone you may wanna look into something called an olloclip(goes for around $50), I just got one a week ago and I'm loving the macro shots it takes.

Thnx never heard of those. Think the 10x magnification will do the job?

I dont even check trichomes anymore , after 5 yrs with these 2 strains i just glance at em .

I use a 30x jeweler's loop, and hold it up to my iphone camera. The depth of field is narrow (background and foreground blurry). You can zoom in on the computer. Good enough for me. Clear and cloudy are a little tough to tell apart because of the lights, but easy to see amber.

Here are ones at 10x and 15x. essentially its just a loup that clips on to your phone so doing what afgoo does may be a cheaper (and smarter) alternative. I still haven't really found the sweet spot for using this either, think I just need more light

Wish I was that good. I'm not yet, or maybe I just don't trust my instincts yet. But I need to see the trichs. Only been growing for like a year. I'm just getting to the point where I'm sticking with specific strains. Full moon being it and I wanna try panama red.

thnx for posting that pic I've been wanting to see what 10x looks like. I can easily see the trrichomes zooming in on my phone. I think I'll just get that. The olliclip.

takes video, pics, has an app to view from phone, durable (I've dropped kicked it many times)

420science has cool USB camera microscopes or if you wanted to be cheap about you can just hold a jewelers lupe infront of your phones camera and get some pictures that way.

radio shack if ya hurry, $20 for a 100x that's perfect

Most people have trouble using those cheap 30X lightscopes. Reason is that to magnify so much the viewing field must be very small. It is difficult to hold the 'scope steady enough to get a good look at tri maturity levels. Here's the answer - If you are right-handed put a small piece of sugar leaf on the back of your left hand. Place the scope over the leaf until the base of the scope lies flat on the back of your hand. Leavng one part of the scope anchored on your hand, slowly tip the scope back and forth until the image is steady through the viewer. This way you don't have to try and fiddle with the adjustment wheel.

PS -- after a while you won't need 30X to gauge readiness when you know the strains. I know that when pistils are 75% orange my Blueberry Gum will have tris 50% milky. Now I only use the scope on new strains or to verify my other observations.
