What light should I get for 4x4 area

I have a 4x8 tent. I want to run autos in half of it. What’s a good light that won’t break my bank account to cover a 4x4?

Thx!
I stared at these lights and about a hundred others before finally pulling the trigger on them. Best bang for buck I could find. They work for veg and flwr on my photos and my autos love them in the 18-6 veg room! They have the bloom enhancer reds that make them work well for flower.
I've been running them for a year ow in both rooms veg/flwr flawlessly thus far.... They've paid for themselves 4 times already. Lol

I haven’t used an hps
1000w HPS for half. Add a 2nd when firing up the other side
hps has a narrow light spectrum from what I’ve seen. Mainly green and yellow. I know blue and red very important to the plants. I’ll start doing some studying on hps. But aren’t led with better spectrums better?

I thought what you did before. I ran cobs on a few grows, still have them, ok for veg. With this larger tent Im trying 1000w HPS and, its blowing everything I ever did out of the water. Just my experience of course.

Truth be told, you really only need HPS for 3-5 weeks in the middle of flower(when peak flower formation is happening), starting and ending with MH. MH increases resin production. Add some UVB the last 2 weeks to add a couple % to your THC, done.

In any case, do what works for you. You'll figure it out. Have fun!

You said without breaking the bank.

To light up half your 4x8 your looking at $500-$1200 for a good LED..

You should also look at 630 cmh. Which falls between LED and HPS on efficiency and has a much nicer spectrum.

Besides HPS has got the job done for decades, go skim through this thread.
