what size buckets for hydrp system?

I am using 2 600w hps in a 6x8 grow room and plan on buying this "class 5" ebb and flow system with 18 total plants.

They come in 3 and 5 gallon reservoirs which would be best for my set up.

I want them as big as possible but don't know if the 5 gallon would be overkill or not.

I would use the 5 gallon res.
Is that 18 buckets for one 5 gallon res? or one 5 gallon for six buckets which means 3 res's?
one 5 gallon res for 18 buckets? will that even work?

No it has a main reseevooir of 65 gallons that goes thru 18 separate 5 gal (or 3) buckets.

Ahh now it makes sense. Well you might not have room for 18 5 gallon buckets and 18 plants under 1200 watts will get smaller plants so you should be able to use the 3 gallon ones but the rootball will fill those 3 gallon buckets stuffed. maybe just use the 5 gallon ones and less plants say like 12, you should have plenty of room then and your plants will do a lot better as well. Good luck with your decision.

Think I could pull off a qp per plant with 12? Using heavyer yeilding strains

3 gallon pots will grow huge plants in a ebb and flow set up.
as for the 3pounds under 1200 watts..no unless you count lots of useless lower fluff buds then maybe

Two pounds is more realistic for twelve plants under 1200 watts. I will be doing my first dwc grow here in a couple of days so as it is I get about 3 zips a plant under 600 watts in dirt so i'm guessing i'm seeing only half my plants potential with hydro I should see at least 4 to 5 zips a plant. In your case expect about the same. I average 3 zips a plant under 600 watts in dirt, the plants Kush.
