Hello all!, I'm about to buy a tent for some indoor growing and i am wondering what size would be best for me. I'm going to be running dwc and soil , a 400 watt hps/mh with a air cooled reflector and either a 6 or 8 inch fan with (eventually) a charcoal filter. The tents are either 210d (just one) ,600d most or 900d canvas. the sizes are 3.8ft x 3.8ft x 6.4ft tall or 3ft x 3ft x 6.4 ft Tall or 4 ft x 4 ft x 78 inches tall. I'm concerned with optimum lighting , heat and all other issues you can think of that arent listed here. would a 240 cfm fan be alright or would i be better with a 480? Is 210d canvas acceptable material for a tent? Is there anything else i'm not listing here that I would need?? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

It really depends on how many plants you want. You need 1sqft per plant (minimum, I say).
Find your target yield, underestimate that bitch, and go from there.
Oh yeah, and if you can afford to, go for the biggest tent. You can always upgrade to a 600w or even hit the 1000w club later. Just sayin... My six footers are booming!

Eleven hundred watts though.... :fire:
:lol::lol:

I just measured the room its going in is only 81 inches and it pisses me off cause i found a tent i really like http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lighthouse-Hydro-Mylar-Hydroponic-Grow-Tents-Reflective-Growing-Room/290958137104?rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid=222002&algo=SIC.FIT&ao=1&asc=261&meid=8342963012967172 but its 84 inches tall :(, Also since the 240 cfm fan is ok would the 480 cfm fan be overkill??

Get 2, 240's, one in, one out. It'll clear any of them.

So would one 240 for the reflector and one to create negative pressure inside the tent would be the best configuration?

You don't want pressure or vacuum. One 240 blowing in the tent, and one blowing out of the tent, will create neither, just great air flow. Throw a carbon filter on the out, and your set.

No the one for the air cooled reflector is sealed, It only would go through the ducting and reflector , not actually going into the room. If I have one pulling air through a filter and out of a duct up top and a vent opened in the bottom, It will suck air into the room via the bottom vent thus creating negative pressure. Am I missing something here?

So I went with this tent : http://www.ebay.com/itm/321094241263?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649. It's 40x40x79 Inches. I was going to go for the 4x4 but I was reading about the opitum light needs and my 400 watt was slightly less then that. I have read the reviews on there tents and there all positive which says something about the quality of there products if you ask me. If it is what they all say it is then it was 160 well spent:)
