What To Add Compost Tea?

can i add greensand,fireplace ashes,what gives pottassium?

ive been adding powerd sea weed from B.C its a 1-1-16 its a nice dose of K wood ashes are hard to use cause they rasie the ph but i have a gardening book for 1890 where the auther claims to use only wood ashes and peat and was able to harvest tamtoes underglass in newyork during the winter peat is acidic and wood ash is a base if you can find the right balance good luck

Compost teas, AACT or ACT, provide little nutrient value. Their purpose is replenishment and strengthening of soil microbe colonies. If fertilization is the objective, dry fertilizers are best utilized as grow medium ingredients or top/side dressings. As to the liquid fertilizers, if the grow medium hasn't been properly prepared to provide plant nutrient requirements through their life cycles, drench or foliar applications work best.

Greensand is best mixed into the soil, but go ahead and add a bit to your tea.

Your best bet for K in a tea would be Kelp, meal or extract, or some other seaweed high in K

Woodash might help with that very acidic cottonseed meal you have. Must be from hardwoods (NO PINE!), with white oak said to be the best. Go easy and see how it works.

Some free choices you could use are: Nettles (most any especially common stinging nettle), comfrey, dandelions and diluted urine

Thats what I've always used, but then for my organic gardening I don't like to buy store bought ingredients.

Greensand is probably the most recommended, and a safe bet.
