Man, you guys changing your votes and shit is wreaking havoc on my emotions.
I personally like flat tonneau covers better.

They don't disrupt the lines of the truck and they're easily removable or folded back to haul something higher than the bed. And there's no struggling to get something in ever.

Also better vision to the rear. And you can get hard tonneau covers also.

And they're cheaper.

Everybody has different needs back there though, ya gotta do what you gotta do.

Kinda like fiberglass if I was getting one. It screws your rear sliding window if you have one.
I like tonneau covers too and had one on my tundra but I need more storage than what they provide. Depending how much work it is taking the cap off, might get one for the offseason.
I voted aluminum for the reason you mentioned, looks more utility. The side doors are also larger allowing you to store bigger shit.
I'm still leaning towards aluminum. You can get aluminum with sliding windows too. Those pics were just stock. I've looked both on Craigslist and Facebook. The bodystyle is just too new. Not any used stuff to my specifications at all. I would think the Fiberglass is harder to repair. Aluminum dents vs Fiberglass cracks. The off gassing is a valid concern. Which is why I was going to keep the chlorine in the passenger side toolbox. And rustoleum the inside? What about brands A.R.E.? Leer? Pretty much the only option around here.

Fiberglass is easy to repair, think surfboards. Oh yeah, you are landlocked in flyover country; no surfing heheh

Go with the aluminum. You'll fatigue long before the metal does.

Still no helper. Pretty fucking fatigued already.
Your helpers always seem to suck.

Maybe they should do what a guy at work once did.

His name was Howard Hughes (seriously) and he decided that 5 days a week was more work than he required to pay his bills.

So, a day or two a week he would sublet his job to his buddy who looked a lot like Howard and pay him. (Less than he was getting in his check, lol.)

One day the boss noticed Howard wasn't Howard and asked him WTF he was doing here.

"I'm working for Howard Hughes today"

"No, you're leaving because you don't work here and tell Howard to stop in the office when you see him, OK?"

We never saw Howard again. True story.

At least he tried to provide a replacement when he didn't want to work. That's pretty thoughtful.

Well thanks. You guys were absolutely no fucking help lol. So the cheapest appears to be Leer. The fiberglass and aluminum are about the same price really. I'm still leaning towards the aluminum. I just like the utilitarian look of them. And apparently caps are about $3k these days. Now to convince the powers that be what a great investment this will be…
