ok so ive been growing in soil for awhile now and now i want to venture towards hydroponics. I am interested in doing a sog. My current set up consist of a 4x4 tent, a 450cfm inline fan connected to an air cooled daystar hood with a 600hps light, duct to a carbon filter. The room runs around 73-75 degrees but humidity is really low, 30-40%. I wanted to grow using a 3x3 foot flood tray. I've been doing research on this forum and noticed that most people doing a hydroponic sog either use aero or dwc.
i was planning on doing a top feed bucket system. basically a 20 gallon res, a 3x3 foot tray with 36 6" pots filled with clay and run hoses with no emitters(to prevent clogs) to each pot running on a 24/7 watering cycle. i was going to use the flood tray to run the water back to the res. Is this over kill, am i looking to much into it, will it become root bound due to small pots, would it be easier to just set it up as an ebb and flow, or maybe find a lid to my tray and put small netted pots in it and make a large 3'x3' dwc system.
