What would you do with this 3'x6' ?

I've got one 3'x6' room. I started with a Mars II 900 (actual draw 300 something watts.) I switched pretty quickly to an Amare Pro 4 (400 actual watts of cree 3590's.)

I've been pretty happy with the Amare until I realized that not only does it not give me very uniform coverage away from the center of the room but that it's only about half the watts I should be running and is one reason for my lowish yields.

The time has come for a change. I'm not interested in DIY, blurple, or HID at this time, but still have too many options.

Would you go with -

1. Attaching another Pro 4 to the first (have included brackets.) Not crazy about this as it seems it wouldn't be very uniform coverage away from the center of the room? but it would allow me to use my current light

2. Two of the timber 4 vs (4 cobs/420w x 2), seems like the most uniform coverage

3. One timber redwood vs (6 cobs/640w x 1)

4. Two hlg 300 v2's

5. Two hlg 360 elites

I'm leaving out the Amare bar 8, spyder, and gavita led, doesn't look like they'll really fit into a 3' wide room and probably exceed my budget as well.

Which would you go with? Or something different?

(PS - if you missed it, I'm not interested in DIY, blurple, or HID at this time)

What is the height of the room?

Run the Amare and supplement it with samsung strips or boards or cobs. That Amare light is a good light.

I have 2 foot strips on a board and it covers about 2 x 4 up to 3 x 3. A couple or 3 of those would light it up.

One of these with your Amare would cover pretty good and you can always add another or a 135 watt board and hook them all to the same timer.

@Humple it has a 9 foot ceiling
@gwheels I agree it's a good light, I'm skeptical about getting even coverage on the sides/ends if I keep it. I don't want to add 3 or 4 more individual smaller lights just to even it out...?
@Chip Green message received, lol...you're probably right but I'm stickin with my original specs o_O

Thanks gwheels, I'll check out their site this afternoon. I'm thinking it looks kind of like I'd basically be paying them to do a strip build for me.

Sorta surprised Timber and HLG are getting no love!

I love my timber too. IF i lived in the USA i would get it. I am running a 2VL and it is a rockstar in 3.5 but with shipment and delivery it cost about 50% more. I run 2 tents of 5 square feet each at the moment.

I would run a 600w hps with a magnetic ballast.

I know it’s not led but it’s a cheaper option with proven results. I also started with a mars hydro and then realized like yourself there ~300 watts and got two. Since then I’ve got several grows down of decent stuff but I knew the light was holding me back. Been reading a lot about lights and what to build and like yourself I’m not up to the task of a DIY led strips yet. I’ve wanted to make my own led strips but to do it correctly is expensive and I’m just looking to improve my yields without going too crazy. I’ll use the mars for seedlings and veg.

Next step is to figure out how to cure properly and I think I’ve figured it out. This is a very interesting hobby.

I would also add stick to your light plan. All of the current and old school tech grow buds. Massive buds. A lot is in your ability to feed them and give them precisely what they need.

So all of the lights mentioned are no regret lights.....AKA not mars blurple.

dense buds and less heat for the win.

Peace and grow well!

I am just a hobbyist with enough cash to buy any light i want. I have settled on what works for me and let me tell you timber cobs are the shit....quantum boards and strips too.

I have never ever heard anyone say my timber sucks. Mine is a workhorse and it was the cheapest vero they sold for a long time.

I have not bought weed in about 3 years now except to check out the ontario pot store and it was found wanting. And a close circle of friends has saved a lot of dough too !

It is 600 bucks....you can get 2 of the lights i mentioned to cover 476 watts for 1 BC blonde. Yes it has a dial but a jewelers screwdriver and a killawatt cost 50 bucks combined..

4 x 4 vs 2 x 5 :D

Do what you wish. BC blondes make GREAT lights they are just a lot of inital outlay when you COULD build your own for 1/3 the cost

Lookin at throwin 600 to 800 watts total for the room. Max budget about twelve hundred US and I'm in the US so unless I see something I need in BC blondes gear I would probably go with Timber or HLG instead.

joe.grow, isn't hps considered hid?
