What yeild have you had with cfl bulbs?...

hi, got a 45w for veg but will need to upgrade to a 125w in flowering...

has anyone on here every done a cheap hydro cfl grow, if so how much did you yeild and what strain?

I know some buddies that have gotten large yields with CFL for sour diesel... Granted yes they did use about 12 100w equivalant 5000k bulbs, the kind you can get at home depot , BUT It worked well with their home made DWC and less power consumption because the bulbs were not actually 100w, though you can't go by the equivalent of the wattage, you must actually map the wattage by it's actual number and lumen rating. You get what you put in I guess!

my best was 6.5 z's dry off 420 tru watts cfl. in soil. strains were darkstar and critical kush shooting for better curious to see what can be done in hydro with cfls its just not something ive seen alot of on here if at all.

my first grow was a cabinet with 3-125w(true watts) big cfls and 2 skunk haze plants. i pulled 12oz from them but they took over 12 weeks.

4 x 18 watt cfls 38 grams

looks good for the size you have it in, my space is alot taller so it will be interesting to see....

Asking "how much did you get from a cfl grow" is kinda meaningless.


Veg for 6 months and have 1000w red cfl's and you'l get loads.


So many factors other than what type of bulb you use affect your end weight... strain, growing medium, c02, grow method, etc, etc


If your worried about low yield then whack some more cfl's in there, they are cheap after all

don't buy the little 24w CFLs. you can get da big ones, here. 1000bulbs.com
pay attention to socket size. some take standards but the biggest ones need a mogul
