Whats better for Odor Control, Negative ion or Ozone generators?

So Ive got a question, whats better for odor control. Im growing in 2 plastic totes, in my closet but i cant have any smell. Money isnt to much of an issue, i mean i could drop 150 -2 if i need to but i would like to keep it under 100. I wanted to know what is better for odor control, for 2-3 plants. Ozone generators, or Negative Ion Generators. i will also be using a carbon filter, but i want to purchase one of the two for the outside room. Which is better?

upupup i'd like to know also.

and how much can you run an ozone gen in a place where you sleep/live? i know too much of it is bad for your health.

get a carbon filter, its proven to work the best.

you dont want to have ozone floating around your living space.

get a ionizing hepafilter air purifier. that way you dont have to worry about O3

Why dont you want them in your living space? What if i put one in my closet where my grow box is. Would that be ok? Thats wierd that you shouldnt be around them, i see them advertised for homes and bedrooms... whats with that?

Ok cool. very helpful. im going to have a 115cfm computer fan for my exuaghst out of my grow box... I want to hook up a homemade carbon filter to this with a carbon prefilter instead of the tablets. Will this fan be enough to get air out of it. Also i want something else besides the carbon filter. Do you suggest a negative ion generator then? What about those gel container things?

i doubt your computer fan is producing 115cfm, i think you have mistaken.

ya, you can try the ona jell stuff, its supposed to work and make your space smell nice. i say give it a shot.

also i dont think you computer fan will have enough pressure to push much air through a carbon filter, but ifs its only a carbon prefilter you MIGHT be able to get away with it.

do some tests with everything going and see if its keeps your space at the right temps.

Its this Fan. Maybe i am mistaken, in the specs it says 115. Is that not right? I juist ordered 2 of these, i was thinking on doing one as an intake and one exaughst, or 2 intakes one low and one high and then use an inductor farb 6" (150-250CFM) for the exaughst into the carbon filter. What are you thinking about that?

ya, it definitely says 115 cfm..

hopefully it will have enough pressure to more half of the rated cfm through your DIY carbon filter.

ozone is best for killing odors. They are used to clear spaces that are laden with odors ie: dead bodies that have been in apt unfound for days, dead animals in attics etc. Sorry, gross I know, but this is what cleaning services use to rid places of odor. Some hotels use them in hallways on floors that still allow smoking etc. I have run two in my home for years now and, look still alive. You can over do it if your unit is powerful enough. Airzone.com is a great unit...not cheap, but you can fry fish in one room and not smell it in an adjacent room...proves how well they work at removing odors. The trick is turn the unit up just enough to rid the odor, and only a slight "bleach" smell....too strong of bleach smell, your unit is up too high, back it down. You can filter all the air leaving your room with carbon filter as well, tougher to do, set this out in your room or house and no odors of any kind..ever.

Those fans are going to be ridiculously loud. When the say 45dba its usually like 60dba.
