ok , I’m growing in coco for the first time and growing in Grodan cubes for the first time also. I’m using the AN sensi coco line for both. My PH is alway 5.8-5.9, I’m feeding them every day, not much keeping my PPM at 200, probably around a half cup of water. See pic for reference. I’m not using cal mag as the coco lineup is supposed to already have enough in it. My temps are 74 usually, I have them under a G8LED900 with it about 4 ft over they canopy, and , my RH at 50%. I’ve had slow growth since they popped out of the coco on the 19th of December. Now, a couple were lying over almost like we’re dying or their stems were weak at the base, and I started getting rust spots on the leaves. My first instinct is that I’m over watering, but I’m in coco so I thought I’m fine and I’m not giving them a lot of water. I follow growpotcheaply on YouTube and I’m following what he’s done and he grows monster auto flowers by feeding this way every single day. He says to water/feed every single day. So, my next thought was calmag or root issues. So tonight I added a little calmag and also a little Hydroguard . If this doesn’t work idk what else to do except flush, get rid of my AN shit and go for GH floranova. If Anyone can help I’d be very appreciative. I don’t wanna give up on coco so soon but man, my soil plants or luckydog plants that I usually grow in always look better and grow faster than this. 54C9A315-719C-419B-A6C9-80791C163C82.jpegFA1972EF-BC30-4BF6-91D9-C24B771C70EA.jpeg 3064A147-2360-4761-A9A6-0D315C00198B.jpeg

Only water every other day to every third day depending on how fast they dry out. When you water/feed do ot until you get around 20% runoff. Your overwatering your grodan cubes for sure watering every day. Grodan needs to be watered less then the coco does probably though I don't have experience with it.

Is that a three leaf or an auto? I have read about those. forget the name....
Use calmag. I dont grow in coco but I recall something about the coco holding on to either cal or mag but I am not really sure. Read up on it maybe.

Thanks for the replies everyone. A lot of you are saying I’m over watering, which is what my gut instinct says too. But from what I’ve read, when you keep your coco saturated, you have less build up of salts because you aren’t letting your coco dry up like soil. I’m getting a little run off every watering/feeding. Have any of you watched growpotcheaply in YouTube? He waters twice a day , and is getting 2lbs off of autos, and so is another dude named somehighguy. I watch their channels religiously, and
They are growing the biggest autoflowers iver ever seen in my life. And they both swear by watering/feeding every single day like it’s the holy bible. That’s really the only reason I’m second guessing myself. I’ve read to treat coco like hydro because it has zero nutrients so you should water/feed every day, and no matter what, coco holds so much oxygen that it’s very difficult to over water. But damn, they aren’t happy I’ll tell you that.

Listen to us and start feeding every other day and stop paying attention to one grow vid. I'd trust more people with the same answer over one person with a different answer.

So much goes into growing. Unless every factor in yours and his grow is 100% identical then you can't depend on his information as law. Go read any experienced coco grower on here and I doubt they're feeding daily.

Roots need to search for water to grow, become wide spread and healthy.

Try this.

Take your nutes up to 300ppm and water around the edge of the pot until you get GOOD amount of run off. Not sure about the AN coco line but I assume since it's made for coco it has extra cal or mag, cant remember which one coco has issues with.

AN isn't the issue its the way you're feeding your girls. Watering so much may even cause root issues which will look like a deficiency or toxicty.

I’m gonna give them a break for a few days and see what happens and I’ll keep you all updated.

Once the plant has established I water my coco/perlite everyday. 5 gal smart pots with 10% run off. Until there established you can over water coco like already said above. Make sure your not setting your cubes on a cold surface too.

Are you from Muskegon Michigan?

I grow in coco and you can water 5 times a day or more, as long as you have adequate drainage.
Is your soil too cold by chance?
Check your ph pin?

Everyone is saying to water everyday but make sure to throughly water with plenty of run off. Your watering a small amount with no run off which I would bet increase salt build up in coco. I think the whole point of using coco is you CAN water everyday as long as you do it properly ie. decent of run off.

So I felt my coco and it sure as hell does feel cold. That may be the issue right there. It’s 75 in the tent but the coco feels way colder than that, I’m gonna bump the heat up and see if I can warm the root zone. My plants are about 4 inches tall and I feel now, that maybe they haven’t established a big enough root zone yet and I am in fact over watering. 50566AE9-CC8D-4B87-B70D-9936EF634215.jpeg FC22D1B4-4300-476C-9938-226E3FA21E7C.jpeg There still seems to be a big disagreement between growers that you don’t water every day and then saying you do. I’m just trying to learn the right way and so I figured I’d follow the guy who gets pounds off autoflowers growing this way. He has an entire series showing how he always grows in coco and how he gets such monster plants , and he says watering every day is what makes the difference between getting massive plants/yields and getting ok ones. I think my root zone is cold and not established enough for that yet though. My water I’m using is rain water, which is collected and
Then stored inside my grow room . The temp of it just read 59F. That May be the issue also? I calibrated my PH pen and it’s good to go Bakersfield, and blueback, I’m actually from Southeast Alaska. Muskegs are everywhere. Google em lol ! Hard to describe what they are . Thanks for your help guys I really appreciate this.

What type of coco are you using? When my plants are at that size I water (feed) every second or third day using (water temp at 69 degrees) @ 1.0 ec completely saturating the medium with plenty of run off. As soon as I notice the new growth turn a pale green or yellowish I bump up the feed to 1.2 The growth starts to explode, then I start feeding daily at 1.2. From my experience young roots seem to develop quicker in a warmer medium.

I’m gonna get my water temp
Up and ready for next time I water . Probably a couple days . I really need these plants to make it and do good. I’m making FECO for my mom who was diagnosed with lung cancer so these are very important . I shouldn’t have gambled and just grew in my normal medium (luckydog)but I do have a couple in the lucky dog and
They are doing freakin awesome

I planted these from clone 4 days ago using above said method. I'm not concerned about the fan leafs at this point only the new shoots that have appeared since the transplant.

That guy who says he gets 'pounds' off auto's is full of it! I've seen his videos, and his claims are outrageous! He chops a plant that is less than 2 oz's..and he's there saying..hmm..it looks to be 3.5...nugs are super dense...he's squeezing the shit out of the nugs the whole time..which is a complete no-no..and even then..you can see they are not all that dense! Don't put too much thought into his claims lol! He calls all his plants giants...all i see are leaves and branches and small buds. He's not growing his autoflowers at 32 zips a piece!!!
You can water coco daily..there are people who do it 3 times a day...in which case..yes, it is important to water to run off as with coco, you have to feed with each watering, and if your feeds are off, which for most people they are, it will build up otherwise, just like in any other medium! I know a guy who lives a block from me and grows in coco..all organic...he waters every 4th-5th day..growing under strong/quality led's and 5 gallon containers. The point of coco is that you can water often, basically simulating the conditions of a hydro grow...which if done properly, is the best way to grow a plant as it grows the fastest and strongest.
