Whats my cure time?

Did not feed any water for 7 days prior to harvest.

Hung for 48 hours in 65-70 degree darkness with 45-55% humidity, flowers crispy on outside.

Put in jars for cure.

Removing lids every 12 hours for 20 minutes, moving flowers around to ensure even cure.

How many days of curing should I have here? I understand this is subjective but would like input from experienced folks

Seriously? Everything I've read said stop watering for 7 days prior to harvest for a quick dry time, otherwise I'd have them hanging for a week before jarring. Is that not right? Damn Jorge Cervantes

BTW

Leaves were not droopy and no signs of stress from lack of water......


back to the question... cure time?

the curing is to fine tune the flavor and smoke, longer the better, so cure it for however long you want, just keep tabs on how many days its been and smoke a little after a couple days then each day and see how much better it tastes and smoke as each day passes.

Thats the problem right there...this guy is a total moron. I dont know how he became the guru of MMJ growing. Half the shit he says is just plain wrong.

To answer your question, Unknown is correct. you can cure as long as you want to. sounds like you started ok (we will ignore the not watering for 7 days thing, next time go maybe 3-4 days and youll be fine). As a coupe days go by the buds will feel more dry again. then you will want to burp the jars less often (once a day to just change the air out instead of 20 min. then once every couple days then eventually you will be able to just leave the jar shut till you want to smoke out of em.

Mine have been in the jars for over a month now, I am just burping a few minutes every other day or so down from a few times a day. It gets you stoned but still has a slight, very slight, hay smell to it so I am leaving them alone in hopes the smell comes back. Like he says no set time limit all are dif.

i too stop watering before harvest, but thats just a few days before, so they are quicker to dry and less likely to make mold. (its humid as fuck here)
flushing, or just not feeding nutes, should happen weeks prior to the harvest to ensure a smooth smoke (even tho i keep adding in sugars til the last day i water)

curing... well thats up to you. in theory, if your curing in jars, then your gonna cure until you pull it out and smoke it. when i harvest, my first smoke cured for 30 minutes. by the time the last jar is getting empty, id imagine they are in there for 2 months or so.

but you can cure longer. and you should.

The best thing I ever did was put a hygrometer in my curing jars. It takes all the guess work out of it and makes it super easy. Read the thread ”a perfect cure” in the harvest section.

For "The Perfect Cure Every Time" How long does it usually take you to get to the optimal humidity for long term storage?

I have my hydrometer in one jar and i rotate to the others every 12hrs when i burp but my RH is ataying about the same i dried for 5 days until crispy and stems bent but didnt break maybe my meter is saying it need to retire lol

There is no real answer to this. Tons of factors are involved. My final cure time is going to be different from yours and it could be by a a lot. Just be vigilant and aware of your RH and once your in that 55-60 zone your done. That being said 3-4 weeks is pretty good general estimation.

no doubt a good cure makes all the difference. i like to cure for at least a month. it only gets better!
