Whats my options??

My clone has been outside growing in the ground for 12 weeks. She has only been flowering now for 2 weeks. Today I noticed the trichomes starting to turn milky looking. About 1/3 of them have changed. The Buds are only popcorn size, not even the size I want (of course). I thought I would have a few more weeks, this was my first check on trichomes. I really was shocked when I seen some clear and some milky. I want more of a head high. So once the Trichomes change to milky all the way I wanted to harvest. BUT the buds are so small. The QUESTION I have is.... how long will the trichomes stay in the milky stage before turning to amber? I want it to grow some more. I want bigger bud! +rep

In your shoes and preference for a "head" high, I'd wait until you see 100% cloudy with a few amber, on the tip of the buds. Farther down may have a bit more amber, but this will get you maximum yield and meet your preferences.

If it's only been in flower for two weeks it's got a ways to go.
