what's the difference between hygrozyme and aquashield?

Hey guys, since nutrient/supplement/additive bottles dont EVEN TRY to explain what each particular one does exactly, I'm a little confused.

I have two products: hygrozyme and aqua shield (liquid compost solution, from botanicare). From my understanding the hygrozyme gets rid of dead, excess organic matter and the aquashield helps keep the slime under control by helping to maintain a healthy population of beneficial bacteria.

Are these two products the same thing? Also, in my aeroponic setup, my pH seems to climb a lot. I'm noticing a correlation between using these products, and my pH rising even faster when I add them.

Can anybody offer any insight as to what these products do exactly? How do mycorrhizae factor into this? Thanks for anybody that can help me out here.

The way I see it is Aquashield and Hygrozyme are the same, although many guys prefer the Hygrozyme, saying it is better and stronger solution, than Aquashield

Yeah I heard someone saying that they prefer to use pondzyme, instead of "the more expensive, watered down version" and he was referring to hygrozyme. But yeah, I've been using it and aquashield both and have had zero build up of any kind so far. Knowing that they are basically the same product now, I'll be able to be even more efficient with it, hopefully.
