whats the max plants i can grow with a 150w hps set up in my closet?

WEll of the two systems listed the second is the better choice in my opinion. the main reason why is based soley on the fact that the second one has a remote ballast meaning it doesnt have to be a source of heat for your plants in the small space your considering. As for how many plants you can grow that depends on alot of different factors and there is no definative answer. It depends particularly on what type of grow you are looking at. hydroponic, soil, hempy pots, LST, many different options and you have to decide which will lend itself the greatest chance for success for you. heres a quick look at a hempy bucket grow which may suit your needs,
