what's up with my buds?

i'm waiting until most of the hairs turn red/brown before i harvest, but the buds have been pretty light. they aren't the dense buds im used to.

at first i thought this was a lighting problem, but i've upgraded to a 400W MH and im having the same problem.

any ideas?

could be the strain, could be lack of nutrients. those are my best guesses, tho im pretty new to this. also arent you supposed to look at trichome color instead of hair color? but i guess the hairs are covered in them

just my 2 cents, thought id at least TRY and help

but ya def i hear that trichome color is what you need to look for. overall trichs, not just the ones on the hairs

so im looking for clear trichs right?

i thought it may be the strain too. ive just been using bagseed, so i just got some feminized seeds from the attitude seed bank. im hoping that helps.

youre looking for amber trichoms. i think its like 40% amber trichs, but i think i might be wrong, im sure if you post on here and ask someone will tell you. but i know for sure they are supposed to be amber.

what kind of nutrients are you using, are you using anything like big bud? etc?
becuase i find when i dont use any nutes i get light fluffy buds

ok so ive been flowering well into 5 weeks now and no trichomes are visible yet whats the deal? Does anyone have a clue. I guess i'll wait until the pistals turn a dark yellow/ amber before i harvest i guess.. 7-8 weeks should put her ready july 9 so does anyone think they will show by then??

i ment stigmas the hairs out of the pod

it could be sativa
they take longer to pop out the calyx pods

ya i got a indica clone and the leaves are fatter than the one thats in flowering. The one thats flowering that doesnt have the trichomes showing yet even though its in its 5 going on 6 week of flowering leaves are long and skiney.

So should i wait for the trichomes to appear before harvesting on the 8th week??
