"Commercial potting mixes are made of half digested wood chips, twigs sticks and other plant material from many sources including timber mills ag waste, landscaping companies and whatnot. The dont know the species of the tree limbs that go through the chipper, and it usually doesnt matter if they compost them right, but sometimes they dont. Your soil looks twiggy, theres big chunks of wood in it, and the color is off. This fairly screams improperly composted soil. Many plants (oak cedar juniper etc...) create acidic compounds in their leaves and branches to deter pests, and to toxify the soil under themselves so competing plants cannot grow well. If the soil company didnt compost the material from these plants properly, then they continue to break down into acids as designed, making your soil acidic" Source: Me in response to another miracle grow potting mix user
Get some good dirt, and repot your shit, removing as much miracle grow potting mix as possible. Soil should be smooth, without big chunks of wood, twigs, or anything you can identify as plant material. Water less often, and never use full dosage fertilizers unless your plants demand it. (they will NEVER want that concentration of fertilizers, more water with a lower concentration is what your plant will crave) fertilizer application schedules are never right for your plant in your conditions. Only give them enough N P K and trace elements to keep them growing and healthy.
you would do better with roadside dirt or soil from a vacant lot than miracle grow's toxic soup.
