Whats wrong with this sprout?

This seed was the only survivor of a squirrel attack...it's brothers and sisters had just broken the surface and were eaten, and it was pushed further under...never broke soil...i dug it up and saved it and it's been sprouted for one week and one day...why is it only an inch tall and skinny? I planted some more about 5 days ago that are bigger than this one...sorry for blurry pictures.

probably just stunted from stress, how would you feel if your bros and siss got killed and they you had to move away to stay safe. its been through a rough time, just see how it goes and put it with its new family

Yea that is very little for a weeks growth. It will grow eventually though so I wouldn't worry.

thanks guys for the posts...I'll just show it some love...probably gonna be a male though and I'll have to kill him I named him roger just in case...hoping it might be amiracle and be the best female I've ever had...probably not though
