when does bud start forming ?

hi im on my first grow and am in 1 week and a half into flowering (not including week of sexing) and was just wondering when bud starts to properly form , like what are the stages of flowering, i have loads of white hairs on them as you can see in the picture (even though its far away) but was just wondering when i will start to actually smell and actually see something haha thanks

You'll start to see the calyxes swell (so the actual buds) when the first pistils start to recede, usually around week 3-5. That's when they'll really start packing on weight. As for smell, it totally depends on the strain... my first plant smelled like a dead skunk about 2 weeks into veg and my current plants don't smell at ALL 1 week into flower.

Generally a week or so after the stretch period (first 21-24 days of flowering) you'll start seeing robust bud formations starting.
