When does Capitalism fail?

Communism and socialism are political models, capitalism is not... Just because it is an ISM doesnt make it the same thing...

There is very little pure capitalism left in America. Regulations, subsidies, etc destroy fair competition and what we have left is not true capitalism it is some socialistic bastard of the concept which the left declares has failed.

Capital is the standing you have. You use that to amass markers, capital, not money necessarily. Markers can and have been anything. It is the natural order and self fulling if you just let it happen.

I started my real estate investing with nothing but a job. No capital, but good personal Capital. I worked my ass off to get some credit standing among my fellows. That is Capital, not marker. I parlayed my personal Capital with a partner of some means to the point we trusted each other. Not the marker, but the actual Capital of trustworthiness. Two way street. The makers roll in only after you invest the personal Capital. That is real. Not an -ism.

When does fail? Never. It's not a theory. It is how humans operate. We are naturally born helpless into a system of hierarchy based on personal Capital. It is actual, no shit, political capital. It totally depends on how your natural Capital is managed and hopefully encouraged by your parents.

I was was constantly challenged to grow my Worth. (another term for Capital) Some are not so fortunate. And some are taught that worth is something a govt decides.

Well what we have is technically State Capitalism, Free market or liasezz faire capitalism is indeed something we don't have, it has existed in this world but only in short spurts. I would argue that it cannot exist with the presence of a state because eventually it becomes State Capitalism, so this is the failure with capitalism, it is that it becomes State Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, etc... Governments are the failure of capitalism, but those above me are correct, the modern definition of Capitilism was actually coined by Karl Marx, but its not the the true classic definition which doer and nlxsk1 are describing above, its not really the same thing as Communism, State Capitalism, Socialism, or what have you, completely different.

I agree, except that I see it more as a failure of the state than a failure of capitalism.

Capitalism hasn't hijacked the government. All of this "capitalism has failed" talk is nonsense. Capitalism doesn't rely on welfare or government eliminating the competition or fiat money.

What has failed is progressivism and Keynesian economics.

Crack addiction and vast wealth pours in at the same time. The Gangs keep order, in the neighborhoods like the Mafia does with interstate commerce. I'm sure Homeland security is in touch with Crip, Bloods, MS-13, Aryans, etc.

The MOB has to be countered or we are doomed.

Democracy was corrupted immediately , as it always is, doesn't even last a day, not by capitalism, but by government, with the help of the media or as they like to call it 'Public Relations'.

so that is the bitter truth, we are a bunch of failures, we all start hallucinating that government can make our lives better in denial of this bitter truth, understandably out of optimism, mixed in with some threats of violence against something or someone, with this optimism we want to find an answer, a solution to our problems, government tells us they can give it to us , so we allow them to violate simple moral principles and grant them authority, we fall into the trap of believe that we can change nature and that the social contract is a just thing.

I finally get it. You guys are talking about commercialism, not capital. Commercialism is actually all the bad stuff you are attributing falsely to "capitalism, which really is not even a word to me it's so out of context.

The real problem is people like Padwan...

He was taken care of all his life by his parents. Nobody told him he would have to compete in the real world.

Suddenly, his parents are not going to take care of him anymore and he is desperately trying to alter reality to create some form of socialism where the government will provide for his needs like his mom & dad did.

He will quickly learn it doesnt work that way... He will likely learn it sitting in some protest tent in Oregon or wherever when a policemans baton infringes upon his right to squat wherever he wants...

What is it about a large central government that never gets it right and always spends more than necessary, that sheeple still expect them to do what is best for the country and it's people?

If your dog chewed up the furniture in your house, every time you left and pissed on the carpet, knocked over lamps, pulled down the drapes and shit in your bed... would do nothing but HOPE FOR CHANGE? Einstein defined insanity as "doing the same thing and expecting different results".

I don't get it. With all the information we have available to us about what has been done in secret, in the past, why do some STILL think our so-called leaders will get it right... this time?

Well, we usually agree, but not this time.

Any person and every person is very lucky, indeed, to be taken care of by his parents and I hope you were, as I hope for everyone coming soon.

But, to call that "the problem" or say the phrase...."people like him" I just don't agree. First I don't agree there is any problem, as I've said. It is all struggle, not problems. Not many are trained enough and have the brains to tackle the current situations and we would know nothing about that. But, we have the so called, "free press." And there are points of views we allow ourselves to express in mass, whether or NOT the authority WE, like it.

Some parents way "over mammy" their kids, best thing my parents ever did was give me permission to start working young, after school and weekends and stuff.

Some people think the Govt is there to provide for them, the concept of self reliance is completely foreign to them.

The fact that his parents took care of him was not the point. The fact that he wants it to continue through some other agency is the problem.

And the fact that he wants me and other strangers to pay for it is what makes it a problem.

He wants free college paid for by someone else. He thinks that capitalism has failed because he isnt benefiting from it... etc.

The mindset of more and more people to look to someone other than themselves to provide things is a huge problem.
