when is harvesting ready??

Unfortunately you can't really go by hair color. Your bud will actually look ready or ripe when it is time, and yes the hairs usually darken and change color. You can also spend 12$ at radioshack for a pocket microscope and check the trichomes.

Here is a shot I took today of my bud.
I plan on cutting this weekend to give you an idea.




some would say it is not ready, See the white stuff? those are trichomes.
When they are white, or cloudy they are ripening. Once they turn an amber color they have stopped ripening and start to lose potency.

The hairs or pistils have turned a reddish color, compare them to the top one.

That should give you a better idea.

nice grow, and thanks for the info...how many months is it in flowering? and what lighting.

Yea I will be cutting tomorrow. eight weeks flower finished on the first, I been flushing. PPMs are at 40 PPM.

Pics and info is covered in my dual cabinet journals if you want to see the grow. Im using a Ceramic Metal Halide 400 watt lamp this time around. Next grow will be the son argo 400 watt. They both run off my HPS ballast.
