Whenever your cotyledons start to yellow you can start very light ferts. Slowly increase as your plant grows or if you start to see a bit more yellowing, if you get to the recommended dose then I usually stay there and if your leaves start getting too dark of green then pull back a bit on the fertilizer... Pretty basic and there's more to it than that sometimes if you have deficiencies or lockouts.

So when that turns yellow it means that those leaves nutes started going to real leaves. And that means the real leaves can start taking in more nutes.
