When to began flowering?

Im not sure if the strain i have autoflowers on its own.. I have some green crack clones that i planted late on july 7th. there about 2ft tall already. its already the first week of august i was told to start flowering around the 15-20th of august? is this true??.some friends of mine are already just starting to flower but they have monster plants.. should i start to flower my plants too?or should i just wait till those days? i feel like those dates are late??...

if your inside flower, if outside, she will do what she wants.

I'd say give them 6-8 weeks from planting, OR when you get to half your max grow height (don't do what I did the other week though and put the light too high so they stretch at the beginning of flowering, coz they keep growing upwards and you can find yourself in a pretty tight squeeze height-wise...)

ya you left out a large amount of details...indoor or outdoor would be the first question

You dont need to do anything, it will flower when its ready. Trying to force it to flower by reducing amount of total light recieved to 12 hours youll just make the plant have less energy to start flowering when its ready.
