when to flower

Hi guys im a newbie grower doing my first grow.
Ive been growing a plant for 6 weeks from seed, it started under a 130wcfl but a few weeks ago I upgraded to a 400w hid tent system. Im not to sure when to switch my light over for flowering.
The growth has gone pretty slow but seems to be growing faster under the hid.
Its still fairly small but growing nicely how long should I wait to flower?

You can initiate flower anytime you want by changing the light schedule to 12 hours light, 12 hours dark whenever you want. I ideal situation would be to wait until the plant matures, which I think is indicated by alternating leaf sets. Then flip from there. Ultimately when you flip depends on many things. Do a little research and good luck with your grow.

Also, I would worry more about why my plant was so small at 6 weeks versus when to flip to flower....there are some issues there.

under a 400 depending on how many plants i would flip at 12 inches if 1 grow it big 3 plants flip a 12 and it will fill your tent
