When not knowing the strain of a plant or for whatever reason how could I tell when to start flushing, can I tell by trichs or overall bud development

its a good question mate as im having this debate at moment just hitting week 9 and im unsure on strain times trich's are a good way of tellin how close they are but im unsure to feed on a bit or flush myself but if they look good i run ripen for a week to 10 days then water for a week to 10 days i know ripen does alot to finnish the plant off but im still unsure to start ripen and flush or feed on for a while i will be interested to see peoples comments on this one ...

imo if u had stress the plants during flower then the trichs could be developed before the plant matter has finished due to the stress ie losing weight fluffy buds but the high is their.
i try to look at the plant as a whole bud development trich color receeding hairs and the overall look of the plant then make my choice.
u could go solely off the trichs if its just the high you want but if u stressed the plant during flower the buds might not be fully developed if u get me lol but if u wait for the bud to finish then the trichs maybe over developed and not the high u want.
theres so many variables to this

Yuppers.....No flush....Can you name me ONE plant that gets flushed so it taste's better or smokes better? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Gents, I have toured cigar makers in many places.....do you know how expensive a cigar can get? NO cigar tobacco is "flushed" at the finish...period! It's all in the cure! I have some 15 year old cured tobacco cigars by Gurhka....rolled just a cpl of years back....One of the finest smokes I've ever had! I have a cpl Cohiba (Cuban brand not the Dominican) Aniversario that have even older tobacco in them and they were made like,,geese a,,, 15 or more years ago for the companies 100th Aniv.....These are like way rare and way GREAT!
While you can't really store MM for that long without some extreme measures. The point is that no, flushing will get you nothing.
If you say you've side by side tested your weed that way.....Then I say your finding a difference that is not there! Testing proves that when people are given 3 products to try and then rate.....they will find a difference in all three......Even when the product was the SAME thing!!!

Disregard all the assholes who pop in this thread to tell you how to grow YOUR PLANTS.
I start my flush when I see the first ambers on my plants. When I can put a leaf under my scope, look through the scope and see amber without moving around to find an amber, I will go ahead and flush.
If your timing is right, you will have just finished the last burst of growth and your plant is going into a stalling mode.
I will flush thoroughly, put it back under the lights until the planter starts to dry out (3-4 days) then I pull it out and put it into darkness for 3 days.

Next time you are there while they are harvesting their tobacco, take a soil sample...
Then take that soil sample to your local co-op and have them test it for nutrients.
You will find that the soil is completely void of nutrients. The tobacco has depleted the soil.
That is what flushing does for you. It gets rid of all the nutrients in the soil.
It happens naturally in nature (go figure) we have to do it ourselves indoors.
And just so ALL of you know the truth....
the higher the nitrogen levels are in your soil... the LOWER the thc percentage.... this trick is used in hemp often.
