When to give flower nutrients?

when should I switch from giving my veg nutrients to flower nutrients?
Do you usually just start the first day of August? Or is there a certain time/ week that you usually make the switch?
I’m located in Oklahoma City

I mean... I do you know when they are changing from a veg state to a flower state aside from when it starts forming.
Indoors, I can just flip the light schedule and change nutes for a higher K.
So basically how do you know when it’s trying to go from veg to flower (like during the first week of flower if you’re growing indoors)

I would lower the nitrogen starting in August. Feeding a dose of nitrogen in flowering stage will make the buds unfold into 1000's of leafs(Bad). So avoid all purpose fertalizer for flowerering.

Leafs will become yellow during flowering but dont let that scare you, it makes good smoke if you feed lower Nitrogen and higher P and K in flower stage. Flushing/over watering all the nutes out the last couple weeks is also a good plan too. Let the dirt get real dry then harvest so the buds dry faster

1st are you growing indoors under lights or outdoors under the sun

2nd are you growing photoperiod or autoflower seeds

growing indoors you can flip pretty much when ever you want to 12/12 from 18/6 ( photoperiod seeds only ) then use veg nutrients for the 1st two weeks then go to bloom nutrients

outdoor plant will do it when its ready and the seasons change and you will start giving bloom nutrients when you see buds forming

autoflower are pretty much like growing seeds outdoor they will flower when they are ready but they are more complected and risky to grow correctly

Its real simple TreeFiddy. Switch the nutes when the plant starts to form flowers, that is when it is flowering.

It does not matter if the plant is indoors or out doors, it still isn't flowering until it forms flowers. Switching your lights to 12/12 does not mean your plant is flowering. It can take weeks for plants to transition from veg to flower( or it can take days if the plant is mature and the environment is correct).

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah I guess I butchered my question. I know the plant doesn’t flower based on nutrients.. it’s about the 12-12...

I understood your question, and answered it effectively. There is no specific date to switch the nutrients, and you don't want to cut out the N to early either. The plants need a balanced feed through most of their lives. Part way through flower, or near the end it doesn't hurt to cut out the N, but doing it to early will not allow the plant to reach full potential.

Sorry man just woke up lol was trying to read through all the comments with my eyes not wanting to open. Yeah man I still think I butchered it, which didn’t give some people the chance to answer it correctly. My bad ladies and gents. That’s my fault. Yeah man I was just unsure if there was a certain point as to when you can tell it will need K, but that helps clear it up better for me for sure! So just to make sure my brain is awake enough.... just give veg nutes as needed until you start to see it trying to flower then just switch up the nutes for a Higher K/ flower nutes(since during flowering it needs it more) then just watch it as you normally would?

Exactly man :). Watching the plant will tell you where it is at in growth, and what it needs. Its the simplest way to get the plant to it best potential. Once you know the specific plant, you will know what it likes. Different strains, and even just different phenotypes will require slightly different treatment, but most plants follow pretty standard growth patterns.
