When to harvest?

Hey guys I just have a quick question about when to harvest.
everyone says to harvest when about 70 % of the hairs have turned brown.
What I'm wondering is that for the whole plant or just the main buds. Because on my plant on the main buds most of the hairs have changed brown but a lot of the smaller buds still have white hairs.
Please can someone clear this up for me

Its the trichs not the hairs and 70% imo is a bit much i like 25-50%. and yes you can harvest in stages. I chop the top and let the lower go for another week

If you're going by hairs (pistols), I'd say wait till over 95% have turned.

Not always. If your getting a last pushon an old maid like foxtailish you may just need to chop at 85-90%.........geek bombin
