when to plant germ'ed seeds??????

How big should the white root tip be before planting... they are clearly out of the shell...

Ive planted before... so I generally KIND of know when.. but is there a specific length because i read u shudnt let them get to long.. or to short cuz they will die...

right now the roots are about half the length of my index fingernail...

Quarter inch is ideal. I've planted tap roots that were about an inch long too haha. If its extremely short it will just take longer to come up. You just have to make sure you plant it just under the top of hte soil.

I have always planted as soon as the seed cracks open and you can tell the taproot is on it's way out.

myself, I plant as soon as they crack so as little damage as possible occurs to the tap root tip. A rule of thumb in gardening is to plant at a depth of 4 times the width of the seed.

i plant as soon as the root is out, never had a problem.

Its unlikely they'll die because of a short taproot.. many growers choose to germinate in soil to start with anyway, and thats how its done in nature anyway.

i soak them in water for 24 hrs nd then i plant it ..... never had a problem
