When to start count for Flower stage

This has to be a newbie question and I apologise but I could not find it anywhere on this forum.

When you switch to 12/12 for Flowering.. Does that count as day 1 of the Flower stage? or do you count day 1 when flowers start to appear?

I know it sounds silly but I am trying to time my harvest and I know this strain is 8 weeks flower and done. But not sure when to start the count..

12/12 counts as day 1 bro. Peace

It depends on the grower to be honest. At the end of the day, it shoudn't really matter though. Your buds will be ready when they are ready. Just cos the breeder say 60 days to finish, doesn't mean you should just count 60 days from 12/12 and then chop. Often they could benefit from a little longer. Enviromental conditions have an impact as well, so all grows are different. Take your time, be patient, let your plants tell you when they are ready. You should be looking up threads on when to harvest, not what is considered the start of 12/12, cos it doesn't really matter.

Flowering begins when buds/pistils appear, not necessarily when you switch to 12/12.

plus some people plain old lie about harvest times just to sell seeds as superior when they are not

i counted my flowering from day one when i switched over.. but alot start when you see signs of sex i guess..

Thank you for all the good responses. I know its not just 8 weeks but environment takes a big play into it. Just trying to get a good idea of timing.
