When you do the switch roughly how long until small buds start to appear?

After you switch to 12/12 the plants have to go through a transition from veg growth to flower production. Thats why flower time doesn't start until you see flowers forming, not at 12/12. How long this transition takes depends on the environment, and the genetics of the plant. Typically it takes between7-21 days for the plants to transition and begin to actually flower.

I recently had a batch of clones that usually take about 6-7 days, take almost 3 weeks because I was fighting really cold temps with winter. I got that under control and they have been flowering for a few weeks now. The next batch of clones I put in only took about 12-14 days because the temps are a little better at this point :).

Thanks for that, I was only wondering because I'm scared my plants might out grow my tent :/
 
You can gently pinch the tallest tops to slow the growth and it will encourage the other branches to catch up some.
 
Thanks first time im really documenting anything but usually around week 3 is when they get white and buds start forming. From there its just bulking up
