Where And How To Hang Light Fixture?

I've got a large light fixture to hold my 600 watt HPS and Halide lamps, I'd say the entire set up weighs 30lbs. The problem I may run into is my ceilings are made of thin particle board, with a few thin wooden beams going across. My only other option would be to hang the fixture from a foundation beam, which might work.

Go with the foundation beam, it'll hold the light.

Some toggle bolts thru the particle board and perlings should suffice just fine. That way you can place it pretty much where you want it.

maybe attach a secondary beam to the main beam if its not located in an easy place ...but

but in truth the 600w hps and M/h lamps are light fixtures..

better to attach the ballast(heavy?) to a near wall and the light,--light(bulb) to hang above
