Go to your local hydro shop. Ask about used ballasts, Usually they will have a bunch of used ballasts in the back that go for dirt cheap. Big growers switch out everything after a while, even when it still works good, a lot of them just give or sell the stuff to the hydro shops.

You can get all kinds of great deals on used gear if you just ask the guys at the hydro shops. At my local shop the guy has a whole fucking warehouse nextdoor of used gear. I had no idea till he took me back there one day, I can pretty much just make an offer on something and he will accept cause its just sitting there.
