where do you put your ballast?

just got a new 400watt and was wondering where you guys keep yours? i use a 4x2x8 closet with a shelf in the middle and exhause into the attic. do i want to keep it up by the exhaust or put it on the floor? or put it outside the closet...attic?

outside the closet if poss. as far away from the plants if not. up high is ok.

My ballast is outside my grow tent and around the corner under my bathroom sink! Totally hidden and it doesn't add any heat to my grow.

up high, where the heat can escape, and preferably near an exhaust. nowhere near a passive intake is the important part.

Mine is a few feet outside the closet. Doesn't get hot at all. Just warm to the touch.
