where to go from here after accidental stretching, and a few other desired opinions

Hey guys. So my room is about an hour from my house at another location. This is my first grow. i started the seeds in rapid plugs after being germinated in paper towell with distilled water. 100% germ rate on all seeds. og kush white widow critical blue thai and a few other freebies. The light on the other hand i started them with was 4 of the 6500k cfl's plugged into a power strip with the humidity dome on with the vents halfway open. they stretched incredibly almost over night it seemed so thumbs up to royal queen and dinafem for that. but i was out of town for these 2 days and didnt get a change to catch them till this point. So i took a q tip soaked in ph 5.7 water to tuck some of the root back into the cube took a piece of the plug and stuffed it down in the hole to kinda seal it up so the roots would develop, and propped them up with various stiff objects and loosely tied them with some dental floss to give them some stability. well in an attempt to stop stretching i went ahead and put them under a 1000w mh light i have set up with a 18 site ebb and flow. heres the thing. i have so much cool air ventilation on the lights. the tops of the hoods are cool to touch and there is absolutely no heat coming in the room (verry little if at all) because of the ducting i used. So 3 feet under the MH 1000w? they seem to be doing ok under it and standing up pretty well. but some are a little lanky. i have the dome off and air circulation going with a oscillation fan running and a exhale co2 bag just untill they go into the ebb and flow. in the background is a critical cheese auto i got for a freebie i threw into a pot for gits and shiggles shes the only one under the 1000w mh so im thinking she will be a bute! but what im asking here is since these are stretched this much once i see roots showing through the plugs, should i transplant into the ebb and flow with 1/16, 1/8th the nutes recommended by GH and try to bury them a little deeper into the net pots and only expose the leafs about an inch above the top of my grow medium. (leaving the lanky part under the grow medium) or should i wait for them to get a few sets of true leafs first. its already looking like each one has 2 sets. these pics are about 3 days old.

The ventilation is blowing 72 deg air from an air vent right beside a 2.5 ton A/C through both 1000w hoods......then i addded a 7 inch inline so when the ac is off its still pulling 72 deg air from throughout the house. My first grow but i try to perfect everything before i attempt. but if stable 81 deg is hard to obtain should i get a fan speed controller and knock her down to 80% and let the heat raise a little? plausible method for controlling temp? and BTW the carbon filter pulls and goes straight out and up into the room and blows across a ballasts to help keep it cool. so does the exhaust for the closed loop cooling system for the lights.

Im open for constructive criticism, tips, ideas, what worked for you, etc etc. anyone feel free to chime in i would love to hear all your expierences if you have had similar room designs. ill attach pictures to help you explain. Again one of my first few posts but you guys are awesome so thanks in advance.

DoGood everyone!:peace:

p.s. since the cheese around these parts is more of a head for me sorry for the lack of sentence structure. ill work on it after my better meds finish growing Jah willing.

You can bury them up to the cotyledons (1st set of leaves) with no issues. You probably should be thinking of moving those plants now, as the roots will be popping really soon, if not already. Check the bottom of your plugs, the roots are probably out. Good luck

Wicked! ok Jim thanks for the fast reply.....this pic is how i started them....too little light? (4 23 watt cfl =2600 lumnes 23 watt 6500k) too much humidity? (70%) not enough air flow (tops opened half way) any imput from anyone is great. I have just read SO much im getting different methods. in my shroomery days i had a method nobody done and it worked for me and im kinda seeing this is 50/50 that way. just trying to get more hands on experience from experienced people.

thanks Jimmy. Ive read that and then ive read others. Ive got alot invested in this room for a first grow and ive got the first grow jitters. i know im starting with alot. but my problem is seeds really. i can clone. have helped a friend clone and watched him grow. but the seeds things....thats my hardest part to get right for hydro to me. but again i guess hands on experience is the main factors. Thanks all. ill post a pic in a week or so just to share how it went.

The reason for stretching is because the light isn't close enough and they are trying to reach for it,

If you are having continuing issues with stretch using cfl's... just bring the light right down ;)
Too much direct heat that results in burning of the seedling is the issue, not so much the light.
Most people always draw the conclusion that distance = heat, but it is relative to the bulb type.
Just like outdoor germination, you harden off the seedlings in the shade and then put them under direct sunlight.
The amount of lumens the sun puts out directly, even a shaded area for seedlings would still be getting more light that most CFL's pulled down as close as possible ;)

First grow jitters are normal ^^
Best advice I can give is "Being a successful grower is all about knowing when to step in and knowing when to simply just stand back"

Cheers Jimmy.

... and never be afraid of making mistakes, you learn the most from them. It's better to make mistakes than never understanding how you got things right ;)
