Which COB set up to go for?

Hi everyone. So I'm looking at doing a DIY COB build after Christmas and after joining and posting my previous set up idea I've looked on here and not seen anyone with the same build? So I wondered f you guys had recommendations for me to change components?
I also looked on timbers site and not living in the UK I can't get anything there shipped BUT my brother does frequent the U.S. so could potentially bring me something from there back, if you guys think it's a better choice.

My initial set up is:
CREE CXB3590 3000K/30G/BD/90Ra/36V: 33usd/pcs;

Here is 1 solution for you:

6 x led (CREE CXB3590 3000K/30G/BD/90Ra/36V)+ thermal tape+ Ideal 50-2303CR + LED glass lens KB-HB100-80, unit price: 40.8usd/set.

1 x HLG-240H-C1050B: 66usd/pcs; it can run 6 cobs at 36v, each led is 37.8w.

6 x pre-drilled heatsink Φ180*H70mm(for 95-105W): 17.5usd/pcs;

wiring and screws: free.

Shipping cost (about 13kg): 75usd by TNT economy . It takes about 4 days.
Paypal Charge 4.5%.

So the total cost: 512.89usd.

Is that set up optimum? I've got a 1x1x2 meter tent and probably won't be going any bigger tent wise. I think 6 cobs would be overkill for that space anyway but 5 May be doable.

This was what I saw on timber

Any suggestions or otherwise would be appreciated. For instance.. What about citizen cobs?

are you wanting 90 CRI?
Cheers
Mark
I'm not too clued up on CRI, but I'm guessing the highest CRI is preferred?

I just want a badass cob light from the off, don't want to have to upgrade in the foreseeable future unless something breaks or a new product that's incredible comes out. :)

I like the design of either 4 cobs@2100ma (a square) or 5 cobs@2100ma (a square with one cob in the center) for a 3'x3' tent just to help with my OCD otherwise it jumps up to 9 cobs @1050ma. I wouldn't be able to sleep with any other variation.

Wouldn't a hexagon help your OCD? That would be 6

you might be able to save a few bucks using smaller heatsinks.those are overkill for a 36w cob.but would be a good choice if you change to a bigger driver down the road.

also thought i would toss this out there, you can run a 7th cob with that driver if you wanted to have the extra lumens.

Yeah if you just wanted to light up the outside 6 inches of your tent :)
Wouldn't you be able to make the light patterns over lap? I thought that the problem with most lights especially cobs, was that you would have a hot spot in the middle? Maybe that design would curtail that issue :)

I was aiming for over kill, I'm sure price isn't too different but as I didn't want to run active cooling I wanted the safety net. Would I be right in assuming that?

Is that with the mean well driver I quoted in the first post or the one from timber?

I mean I guess if I could run an extra cob or two from those drivers I could potentially set up a small veg/propagation tent next to my current one. Would that be an idea?

I've got 6 x 3590 @ 1400 Ma in a 2 x 4.5 tent... same square feet different shape.. It's more than enough light..
I'm 3 weeks in veg at 60% power... Bought it from Timber.

Which driver do you have? Hlg 185 1400 ?
Do you just run them passively?
Also, do you have any supplementary light e.g. UV?

I run 6 3590's at 1.4 amps, 54 watts each(HLG320/1400). They are 80cri bin CD 3500K.
And during the last month of flower I add supplemental lighting, about 80 watts of UV, IR, and blurple leds in a 4 sided stick.
in a 3x3 tent.

Do you have any links or names for your supplemental lighting? Would be really useful :)

So in my setup above would I be better to go for cbx3590 3500k as opposed to 3000k?
And again for Hlg 240 1400 rather than a 1050?

The temperature of your LEDs is a choice you make. The lower the number, the more "flower" oriented(red), the higher the number, the more "grow/veg"(blue)the light is.
3500 or 4000 seemed to me to be a decent compromise. I did 3500K.

Light is good. I went for the 54 watts each over the 38 watts, in a 3x3 I wanted 35+ watts per square foot=315 watts anyhow...

I'm using a 1x1 metre so a tad bigger than that, what's your setup?
