which LED lights do I want?

What is the best LED lights to get? I am looking for something comparable to a 250w HPS. I know nothing about LED's, all I know is that there are new kinds that work properly and many knock off kinds that are inaccurate for proper flowering.

I need LEDs because a 250w hps in a 2x3 closet can get pretty hot and by the time I sort out the cooling I probably could have spent the same amount of money on a good LED.

Look into the bigger brands that are mentioned around here. Watt for watt LED will produce the same if not better that HPS, just with a heftier price tag. I've used strictly LED for the past few grows and find bud grown under LED better than anything HID, and not having to worry about ventilation, cooltubes, ballasts ect to be worth the price. Personally I use blackstar LEDs, only because they seem to be the best bang for your buck. Check into the stickys in the LED section and you'll find all the info you need.

Do you use any sort of reflectors? Which wattage is yours and how bigs your space just wondering?

yea they are expensiv .. but I guess well spend .. as they use littel power ..

but be carefull .. dont buy the cheapest china one you can find out ther on Ebay .. still pretty new tecnoligy and I have been toald that some realy works well and some is more like "toy" and dont realy work well ..

so as Trevronious said .. look in to a bigger brand so your dont wast a lot of money trying to safe a few bucks ..

thats about how fare my knowlegs goes with LED .. I did look in to em to start with .. but with the prices and not that great results (compaird to prices) I did go T5HO insted and then got a HPS for flowering . but do seriously thinking of down scaling .. to T5HO only and just make a massiv 12 tube fixture and make a sea of green .. also have heat problems like you aso.

Ooh yea I also read you schould go for the 1 Watt LEDs .. for some reson most effectiv ? dunno might be like 400 and 600W HPS ?

You don't need to run any reflectors with LED. My entire cab is still covered with Mylar though. At the moment Im doing some experiments with running UFOs in a PC case. I have two 90w in a case running a micro sog, with my mothers bonsaied in a separate dwc pc case.

Let me see where LED get's as good of a yield as a same strength HPS, not just one plant, what I mean by that is like having 4 plants under 400w etc. You also have to remember that LED's say that 120W LED = 400w HPS which is total BS. I just witnessed with my own eyes two grows, same strain(GHS Super Lemon Haze), all clones taken from same mother. One grow under 2x600W HPS and the other 2x600w LED panels. Both had 12 plants under each other. Only thing better about the LED was the short internodes. Veg was slower and the yield was way way smaller. Only way that the LED could have even come close was if the plants were scrogged. Needless to say my friend sent back the LED's because he was very disappointed in them. This in not the only time I've witnessed the LED's underperforming under good growers who would love to switch to LED's because of the electricity and heat benefits. But it's not good enough yet for growing something serious, just some small plants.

EDIT:
- Also why is it that none of the big companies that produce fresh herbs(all grown hyrdroponically indroos) etc. to supermarkets all use HPS if LED is better at same wattage? Wouldn't they be the first ones to jump on the LED train if it was actually any good? They're not because rigth now LED's don't compare. So quit talking out your ass.

Ya ok, LED's might compare on 10 inch plants like you seem to be growing, but once you want to get something bigger and better drop the leds.
