Which LED ?

The Spectrum that is cheaper is only a 100W light, the Bestva is a 185W light so that right there makes it worth more. Just so you know, they are not quality lights. It would be recommended to buy neither. What size tent are you using? the Bestva might be ok for a single plant in a 2x2 tent, but even that would be stretching your luck. If you want an led light to grow good plants check these out at this site: https://growerslights.com/collections/horticulture-lighting-group-quantum-board-led-kits/products/horticulture-lighting-group-260-watt-quantum-board-led-kit?variant=42245771850

But we really need to know what size grow area.

honestly if you're looking in the 200$ range for a light your me better off going with a 400w hps cool tube, I've bought the cheapo less and while they will grow decent pot your yield will not be where you want them unless you have a few of the panels and even then it really doesn't penetrate the canopy well, so canopy management is a.must imho

Forget the question!
Both are not worth theq money.
If you are willing to spend between 150-200$US, have a look at Quantumboards from HorticultureLightningGroup.
If you can imagine yourself to build one, look at Samsung's F-Series strips or Citizen CLU048-1212C4 COB's.
DIY makes it significantly cheaper and you could build a 250w lamp for about 200$.

For instance,
5x 4ft. F-Series strips,
5x 4ft.x ⅛" aluminum channel and a
HLG-240H-C1050B driver...
fit's perfect in a 2x 4' tent and is easily scalable if you want to enlarge it later and whats most important ... likely twice as much light as from the bigger amazon LED.

Hey, damn i thought they were 1000w.. they must mean 1kw equivalent. Ive never gone with LED before and was like holy shit that is cheap for 1kw ! haha.. boy was i wrong.

Im trying to make some calculations on how much this possible gro opportunity might cost me.
Space isnt an issue, im gonna start smallish but want the option to enlarge the number of lights.

with regard to the lights, I was thinking of starting with just 3 sets of lights. one veg and 2 flower ?
then if i wanted, i could add more for additional flower room or just enlarge either veg/flower rooms.

I thought with the full spectrum LEDs it would save me from getting different specrums, but i could also just change the bulb on those HPSs.

I'm really looking for best bang for my buck, not looking at the long run, will be a short grow.

thanks

ps: heat is not an issue

Quality LEDs are an investment. If this is a short term grow op, just go HID. Low-end, "budget" LEDs are a loss.

Then I'd have to vote HPS as well
If cost is a major consideration, then I'd also have to say the MH/HPS route would be best. I ended up with led's because I couldn't handle the heat load for my space. I started with Mars and King blurples for a couple of years and then built a pair of 4 lamp Vero 29SE arrays that run up to 320W.-the hardest part of the build was fabbing the frame. There are now pre built frames that are pretty affordable so custom build are a snap.

They aren't even equivalent, all they are doing is adding up the 5w or 3w diodes and coming up with a 1000w, so they can call them 1000w lights, but they aren't. Any company who sells things this way is not to be trusted. But its a common thing with those types of lights.

The options randomblame linked are legit.

If you cant afford that level of quality and heat isn't an issue then buy a cheap HPS and set your self up with a 3x3 or 4x4 tent and the appropriate filter, fan and ducting. Those things are a must for 99% of growers regardless of light choice.

thanks guys, i think ima go for the hps/hid option. They are much much cheaper, im not looking for long run savings on elec, and im looking to heat things up as well. so thanks !

Heat is heat!
400w of LED produces the same amount of heat as 400w HPS!

HPS produces ~65-70% direct heat and the other ~30-35% heat comes from the light itself.
Current LEDs produce ~50% direct heat and ~50% comes from the light.
Remember, light is converted into heat as soon as it hits a surface. From this point of view, your babies get even more radiant heat from the LED's...!?
And the price difference between LED and eg. an 315w LEC setup is only marginal.
15-20% more light from the same watts should be at least 15-20% more yield, perhaps it makes more sense to look at it from this point of view if you do not place any value on electric savings...
